Pahaska

I took these pictures up near Pahaska Teepee about a week or so ago. The lodge was built by Buffalo Bill Cody in 1904, it's about 2 miles from the East Entrance of Yellowstone.

Strange Sounds

I recently discovered that after all of this time, I have a love hate relationship with country music. Usually that means that I love to hate it. Take for instance, when ever I am forced to listen to it, like when I get put on hold and the bastards on the other end make me listen to Garth Brooks, or when I walk into the gym and they are listening to country and I have to hear Randy Travis whining about something. If I am forced to listen to it, I don’t like it. If it’s on the radio, I don’t like it However… I do like some country, and I even have some of it in my iPod. There is some that is just classic, Johnny Cash, The Highwaymen, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reid, C.W. McCall… Yeah, stuff that I remember from my childhood… I also have discovered lately that I also really like that stuff that I used to hear Mom and Dad listening to on the good ol’ AM radio when I was little too… A couple of songs of particular interest are “It Never Rains in Southern California” by Albert Lamond and another song called “Moon Light Feels Right” by a band called Starbuck… Both have that bouncy 70’s kinda sound, but I don’t care, they sound good to me…

Twitterpated

Twitterpated

1)to be completely enamored with someone/something. 2) the flighty exciting feling you get when you think about/see the object of your affection. 3) romantically (ahem)excited (i.e.: aroused) 4) the ever increasing acceleration of heartbeat and body temperature as a result of being engulfed amidst the exhilaration and joy of being/having a romantic entity in someone's life.

Woo Hoo!

I just found this little quiz on someone else's blog...

I'm a Porsche 911!

You have a classic style, but you're up-to-date with the latest technology. You're ambitious, competitive, and you love to win. Performance, precision, and prestige - you're one of the elite, and you know it.

Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.

What happened?

How did January get away from me so damned fast? And why haven't I been blogging? Damned good question, which has a damned pathetic answer. I have been a slacker!

Let's see here... New Year's Resolutions... I'm not doing very well on either one of those...

I haven't met any new people but that's probably my own damned fault since every time that I go to work out, they are playing country music at the Rec center, so I plug into my iPod immediately so I don't go nuts. Then, that puts you into your own little world and of course, every one knows how unapproachable people are who have head phones on, so not only am I in my own little world, but others are far less likely to interact with me as well...

Flying... No, I haven't gotten going on my Biennial Flight Review either. I haven't been near Spirit Mountain Aviation to get set up to go fly with their instructor in their old beast of a 172. But at the same time, the weather that we have been having here in the greater Cody area hasn't been conducive to flying aircraft that only have a demonstrated crosswind component of 15 knots either...

So, we are only one month into 2006, eleven months to go, during which, I know that I will make good on both of these resolutions...

I find myself increasingly amused by those new Geico commercials with that gecko that speaks with an English accent. Free pie and chips anyone?
